Preserving Ancient Techniques
Our artisans specialize in traditional Pakistani embroidery techniques, each with its own history and significance:
Zardozi: The art of metallic thread embroidery, using gold and silver wires to create intricate patterns. This Mughal-era technique requires exceptional precision and patience.
Resham: Silk thread embroidery that creates smooth, flowing designs. Our artisans use varying thread counts to create depth and texture in their work.
Chikankari: The delicate white-on-white embroidery from Lucknow, featuring shadow work and intricate floral patterns. This technique requires years of mastery to perfect.
Mirror Work (Sheesha):strong> The art of embedding small mirrors into fabric, creating stunning reflective designs. This technique originated in Gujarat and has been embraced across South Asia.
Dabka: Coiled wire embroidery that creates raised, textured patterns. This technique adds dimension and luxury to any piece.
Kaamdani: A variation of zardozi using finer metallic threads for more delicate work.
